FREE ACTIVE CHESS TOURNAMENT

Do you consider yourself a good chess player or perhaps you just enjoy the game. Come and measure yourself against other local players in this completely free, 5-round, Active, Swiss chess tournament.

In light of he situation about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic which now appears will not be rectified by May, the tournament is cancelled and replaced with an online tournament through Chess.com (click here)

Details:

When: Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

Where: Community Room past the kids section at the Central Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library on Broughton Street. Follow the arrows.

Rounds:

Round 1 - 10:00 am	Round 2 - 11:15 am	Round 3 - 1:30 pm
Round 4 - 2:45 pm	Round 5 - 4:00 pm

Time Control: Game/25 minutes with 5 second increment from move 1

Registration: By email to VCCactives@mail.com or in person on club nights (Registration deadline is Friday May 8).

Pairings: Victoria Chess Club rating will be used for pairing or if without, CFC or other official rating may be used as appropriate. The Tournament Director shall have discretion as to which rating to use.
