BC Championships Active Fundraiser

 

This event iwas a 5 round active tournament held as a fundraiser to support BCCF provincial championships including:

  • The BC Closed
  • The BC Women's Closed (if held)
  • The BC Active Championship
  • The BC Junior Championship

 

 

Results (standings are given below, perhaps a photo or two will come in the next few days)

 

26 players took part in this event, held Sunday, Sept. 27  raising $352 for the BCCF Championships.  Thanks to Beacon Books of Sidney and J. Brett for additional donations.

 

New to Victoria, Gavin Steininger held off the locals to take clear first with 5 points.  Tian Tian Geng came up the middle for 2nd with 4 points ahead of Valeria Gansvind, Roger Patterson, Lorne Hunt, Neil Cruden, all with 3.5

 

Top U1700 was Neil Cruden, our visitor from New Zealand with 3.5 .  2nd U1700 was Timothy Herbst, one of our German visitors.

 

The U1400 prizes were taken by Garth Edgars (2.5 points) and Bob Matheson (1.5 points)
