The 34th Annual Jack Taylor Memorial Chess Tournament

A 5 round CFC rated Swiss Oct. 25-27, 2019

$2000 Guaranteed Prize fund

This year's event, the 34th, has been again generously supported by the Jack Taylor family. Make sure to attend this year!

Pairings and Results:

When: Oct 25-27, 2019. Relaxed schedule over 3 days

Where: Comfort Inn, 3020 Blanshard St. Victoria

Rounds: Friday Oct. 25 at 6:00pm, Saturday Oct. 26 at 10:00 am, 2:30 pm; Sunday Oct. 27 at 10:00am, 2:30pm

Time Control: Game/90 + 30 sec increment

Sections: Premier and U1600. You can play up a section if your rating lifetime high is over 1500 but will incur a play up fee of $20. If you believe you should be a special case based on other ratings, contact the organizer. Unrated players should play in the U1600 section unless you convince the organizer otherwise.

Rating: CFC rated. Players with a VCC rating but no CFC rating will have that used for pairings and prize eligibility. Unrated players will normally be assigned a rating by the organizer for pairing and prize eligibility.

Prizes: ($2000 Guaranteed)

Premier Section:

1st: $500

2nd: $250

3rd: $150

U2000: $250

U1800: $200

U1600 Section:

1st: $250,

2nd: $150

U1300: $150, $100

Entry Fees: Registered & paid on or before Sept. 16 -$40, Registered & paid on or before Oct. 21 - $45, Onsite - $60. Discount of $10 for 2nd & higher family members.
