Time/Place: Meets Wednesdays 1:30-4:00pm, Esquimalt Rec. Centre, 527 Fraser / ~1200 Esquimalt Road. Free Parking!
Sets provided but please bring clocks. Sparse turnout at times (but does include local master Harry Moore) (so, bring a book or magazine just in case).
First visit free, else $2/visit (but free for: Esq. Rec. Centre & L.I.F.E. program pass holders, and day users of the swimming pool).

First Met Chess Club Held at First Metropolitan Church Now meeting Tuesday evenings starting May 4th 2010 6:30pm - 8:00pm until June 8th Starting again on September 13th 2010 after the summer break. 932 Balmoral (near Quadra and Balmoral). Chess In the Library: At time of writing (Sept., 2010), a pilot program for chess in the library is being run at the Juan de Fuca Branch. More information (and if that link doesn't work, try the Victoria Junior Chess website)
Associations:
Victoria Junior Chess Society: Hosts junior events, junior tournaments throughout the school year, as well as WIllows Beach and CRD Square activity.
Events:
Grand Pacific Open: The main weekend event of the year: A 6 round FIDE and CFC rated event.
Fall Fundraiser: A 5 round active event each September with proceeds going to a cause (usually chess related). Watch the Victoria Chess Club webpage for updates.
Winter Fundraiser: A 5 round active event each February with proceeds going to a cause (usually chess related). Watch the Victoria Chess Club webpage for updates.
Jack Taylor Memorial: A 5 round event in late November. Watch the Victoria Chess Club webpage for updates.
